About Us
My name is Amy and I am an experienced therapeutic play practitioner and mental health support worker for children aged 4-12 years old. I am passionate about supporting children and helping provide positive outcomes using early interventions. My practice is trauma informed and includes neurodevelopmental theory; attachment theory; sensory integration and embodiment. I have had the pleasure of working with many diverse families and children and I work closely with teachers, professionals and a clinical supervisor to create a secure support network. The child is at the heart of my practice and I use a non-directive, integrative, holistic approach to allow children the freedom and safety to fully explore their challenges and emotions. As a parent and a therapist, I believe it takes courage and commitment to bring your child to therapy and I hold deep appreciation and respect for families going through the process. My work and educational life has been varied and enjoyable; I’ve worked for schools and charities and have studied psychology at university and Post Graduate play therapy certificate and diploma level with Leeds Beckett University. I have training in the Solihull Approach and Developmental Trauma. I am fully insured and registered with PTUK and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
